Gateway Baptist Church has been serving our community through our Food Share ministry for 30-plus years. Through this ministry, we have been able to supply food for 18 to 20 families per month. We meet on the second Saturday of every month and put together the bags for the families which include perishables and non-perishables items. The families get fresh fruit and vegetables along with canned items and bread and baked goods. We also add a gospel tract to the bags as well. To help fund this ministry our Church has what we call “Big Day”, which is a Church wide fundraiser. This “Big Day” is the first Saturday in October. We sell BBQ plates for $10.00 and accept monetary donations as well on that day, and year-round. We also have a country store that day which includes homemade baked goods. All of the money that is collected for this event goes back into the community for the Food Share Ministry.
